Kalgoorlie Bega Garnbirringu Health ServiceURL: http://www.bega.org.au/flash.htm What is the aim Kalgoorlie Bega Garnbirringu Health Service?Established in 1983 as a part time clinic in South Kalgoorlie, Bega Garnbirringu Health Service (BGHSAC) has grown and now operates from premises at 16 -18 MacDonald Street, Kalgoorlie. BGHSAC covers the Goldfields Region from Esperance in the south to Mulga Queen in the north and Coolgardie to the west. The service aims to provide a holistic and culturally appropriate health care service to the Aboriginal people of the Goldfields. 'Bega Garnbirringu' means 'Sickness gets better'. What is the website about?The website has an attractive movie introduction leading to information about BGHSAC. Available on the website are details of the general medical and health services and information on other services available such as social services, the Sobering Up Centre, the Family Violence Advocacy Project, the child minding service -Thithigoo (meaning children only), the laundry & shower facilities and the environmental health services. Another section of the site describes the BGHSAC regional sexual health program that seeks to develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive service incorporating enhanced service delivery, improved access to services and service coordination within the Goldfields. The website also includes details of the Learning Centre which offers training for the Advanced Certificate in Aboriginal Health Work (WAACCHO). Who is the site aimed at?The website is aimed at Indigenous people, particularly those who live in the Goldfields, and others who have an interest in Indigenous health services. Should I check it out?Material on this site is easy to find and read, with navigation options that aid browsing. Anyone interested in the services of BGHSAC will find plenty of information on this site. It is also a useful website for individuals interested in Indigenous health.
