5th National Allied Health Conference
February 19 - February 21 2003, Stamford Grand Hotel, Glenelg, South Australia

This year's theme of Bringing it all together - leadership, learning, and practice was aimed at developing the vision for allied health, building on the work of the previous conferences, and searching for some resolutions for the future. A number of the papers will be relevant to those with an interest in Indigenous health.

7th National Rural Health Conference
March 1 - March 4 2003, Hobart, Tasmania

This biannual conference, organised by the National Rural Health Alliance (NRHA), provides a forum for rural health professionals to discuss the issues that face them in their work environment, and to develop initiatives and policy.

The conference has received extensive coverage on the ABC website. A number of papers are now available online.

The conference communiqué and recommendations are available on the NRHA website. This set of outcomes represents a collation of the views of those who attended the conference. One of the priority recommendations from the conference concerns Indigenous health outcomes.

8th Australian Institute of Family Studies Conference
February 12 - February 14 2003, Melbourne, Victoria

The conference theme was 'Steps forward for families: research, practice and policy'. There are a number of conference abstracts and papers relating to Indigenous issues.

VicHealth Public Health Research Symposium
March 26 - March 27 2003, Melbourne, Victoria

The VicHealth Public Health Research Symposium was conducted to celebrate public health and health promotion research in Victoria. The symposium offered an opportunity to reflect upon Victoria's achievements in public health and health promotion research, identify some of the reasons for success, and analyse how the lessons learned may be applied to emerging areas of research.
