Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health

The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Public Health is the Journal of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) and is published six times a year The journal disseminates public health research and ideas throughout Australia and internationally. The content of the journal largely consists of finished discussions of research projects however, there is occasionally space for reviews, views and historical pieces.

The PHAA provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information on public health. The association is also involved in advocacy for public health policy, development, research and training.

Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin

The Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin is the electronic journal of the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet. The purpose of the Australian Indigenous HealthBulletin is to facilitate access to information of relevance to Australian Indigenous health. The HealthBulletin attempts to keep people informed of current events of relevance, as well as information about recent research.

Eating Behaviours

Eating Behaviors is an international, peer reviewed scientific journal publishing human research on the etiology, prevention and treatment of obesity, binge eating and eating disorders in adults and children.

Studies related to the promotion of healthy eating patterns to treat or prevent medical conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cancer) when relevant, are included in the journal.

International Journal of Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity (IJBNPA)

The International Journal of Behavioural Nutrition and Physical Activity (IJBNPA) is the official journal of the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA), and is a peer-reviewed online journal devoted to furthering the understanding of the behavioral aspects of diet and physical activity.

IJBNPA's approach is to focus on the behavioral aspects of diet and physical activity, with its inclusion of multiple levels of analysis, including populations, groups and individuals, and its inclusion of epidemiology, and behavioral, theoretical and measurement research areas. Manuscripts that present theoretical innovations with respect to diet and physical activity behaviors are of particular interest.

Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics

The Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles related to nutritional science, clinical nutrition, dietetic practice and public health nutrition.

The journal considers material from all facets employing a range of methodologies such as public health epidemiology, dietary assessment, dietary interventions, dietetic practice, nutritional biochemistry, nutrigenomics and metabolomics. 

Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior

The Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior (JNEB) is the official journal of the Society for Nutrition Education and Behavior, and aims to document/disseminate original research, emerging issues, and practices relevant to nutrition education and behavior worldwide. As the Society's official journal, the JNEB also includes occasional policy statements, issue perspectives and member communications.

The journal is a suitable resource for all professionals with an interest in nutrition education and dietary/physical activity behaviors. 

Medical Journal of Australia (MJA)

The MJA is Australia's leading peer-reviewed journal of medical practice and clinical research. The MJA is published by the Australasian Medical Publishing Company for the Australian Medical Association.

The print edition appears on the first and third Monday of each month, except that the December issues are combined into one large special issue. The full text of every issue since January 2002 is available on the web (only a selection of articles from 1996 to 2001 is available).

Northern Territory Disease Control Bulletin

The Northern Territory (NT) Disease Control Bulletin is produced by the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Darwin, on a quarterly basis.

The CDC provides a range of services to monitor, control, prevent, and in some instances, eliminate communicable and non communicable diseases throughout the NT. The Bulletin forms part of this service, as it provides professional and community education about critical parts of successful program outcomes.

Nutrition & Dietetics

Nutrition & Dietetics is the peer-reviewed journal of the Dietitian's Association of Australia and covers all aspects of food, nutrition and dietetics.

The journal provides a forum for the reporting, discussion and development of scientifically credible knowledge related to human nutrition and dietetics and publishes original research, methodology analyses, commentaries and viewpoints, research reviews and book reviews. The journal aims to keep health professionals abreast of current knowledge on human nutrition and diet, and accepts contributions from around the world.

Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases

Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases is the official journal of the Italian Society of Diabetology, the Italian Society for the Study of Atherosclerosis and the Italian Society of Human Nutrition.

With a focus on diabetes, atherosclerosis and human nutrition, the journal looks at the interplay between nutritional and metabolic alterations, and cardiovascular disorders. Of particular interest are the origins, the mechanisms and the means to prevent and control diabetes, atherosclerosis, hypertension, and other nutrition-related diseases.

Obesity Reviews

Obesity Reviews is the official review journal of the International Association for the Study of Obesity, and publishes papers from all disciplines related to obesity, including basic and behavioral sciences, clinical treatment and outcomes, epidemiology, prevention and public health.

The readership of the journal includes endocrinologists, cardiologists, gastroenterologists, nutritionists, paediatricians, obstetricians, rheumatologists, general practitioners, surgeons, funding bodies and policy makers with interests in obesity.

The Chronicle

The Chronicle is a monthly publication produced by the Northern Territory Chronic Diseases Network. It is published by the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), which provides a range of services to monitor, control, prevent and in some instances eliminate communicable and non-communicable diseases throughout the Northern Territory. NT-wide programs, policies and strategies are developed via multisectoral consultation and implemented by district CDCs in collaboration with all levels of health care providers. Both professional and community education are critical parts of successful program outcomes.

The Chronicle has regular topics which include screening, mens health and resources. Each edition features a theme. Contributions to the Chronicle are welcome (eg. research, project updates, photographs and new resources).
