The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet will be present at some of the activities held by Edith Cowan University (ECU) for NAIDOC week. ECU is celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Indigenous Australians through a number of activities this week (from 1 - 8 July), as part of NAIDOC week 2012.
Activities will be held at both Joondalup (JO) and Mt Lawley (ML) campuses. These include:
NAIDOC week activities are taking place throughout Western Australia (WA) and nationally, with the theme for this year being: 'Spirit of the tent embassy: 40 years on'. Awards ceremonies are also part of NAIDOC week, with the National NAIDOC awards ceremony being held on 6 July in Hobart, Tasmania.
The 2012 NAIDOC Perth awards were held on 15 June in WA, and recognised Indigenous individuals or organisations who made a significant contribution to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community of Perth. A full list of winners can be found on the NAIDOC website.
