The Aboriginal Medical Service Western Sydney, based in Mt Druitt, NSW, is among the four winners of the 2012 GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Childhood Immunisation Awards. The service won the award for 'developing a new approach that recognised the importance of the individual in every immunisation encounter'.
The GSK Awards are aimed at encouraging all health professionals working in childhood immunisation to share their ideas and best practice so that others can learn how to overcome challenges and improve childhood immunisation services to the benefit of their local community. The winners each receive a grant of $15,000 for their outstanding contribution to childhood immunisation, which will be used to further enhance their award-winning programs.
