The Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku (WDNWPT) Aboriginal Corporation has been announced as a finalist by the Australian Human Rights Commission for the upcoming Human Rights Awards, to be presented on Friday 9 December in Sydney. WDNWPT is a small non-government community-controlled health service based in Alice Springs, which provides a remote renal dialysis centre in Walungurru (Kintore) in Central Australia, as well as dialysis facilities and social support in Alice Springs. WDNWPT's aim is to improve the lives of people suffering from end-stage renal failure and help them to maintain links with family and country.
