Chronic Disease Network Recognition Awards for Aboriginal Health Workers

The Chronic Disease Network (CDN) Recognition Awards have been held annually since 2008. They provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate innovation, leadership and achievements made by those working in the field of chronic disease across the Northern Territory. The CDN Recognition Awards were given out at the CDN conference on 7 September 2011. Congratulations to the following winners:

Chronic Disease Health Promotion/Program Delivery Award

• The joint winners of this award were Laurie Barrand and Nicola Eaton, from the NT bowel cancer screening program.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Leadership Award

• The male winner for this award was Jason Bonson of Health Development.
• The female winner was Carolyn Griffin of Menzies School of Health Research.

Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Chronic Disease Award

• This award was won by Suzanne Stewart, Senior Policy Officer at the Department of Health.

Conference Theme Award

• This award was won by Robbie Corrie, Senior Aboriginal Mental Health Worker at Cowdy Ward.
