More remote communities act to curb petrol sniffing

The Northern Territory (NT) Government says almost 75% of communities in East Arnhem Land are now taking part in a program to curb substance use. Gapuwiyak, a remote community in the NT, is the latest community to develop a program to manage the supply, storage and use of volatile substances, such as petrol. The introduction of the Gapuwiyak volatile substance abuse management plan, a program developed through extensive consultations between communities and stakeholders in the East Arnhem area, has been praised by Health Minister Konstantine Vatskalis.
