The Australian Government has launched the DVD Being safe, not sorry in conjunction with the National Road Safety Council focusing on practical ways to improve road safety for Indigenous Australians. The DVD highlights key safety concerns including unlicensed driving, overcrowding of vehicles, driving intoxicated and not wearing seatbelts. Indigenous road safety is a serious concern in the bush and Indigenous Australians are around three times more likely to die in road crashes and about 1.5 times more likely to be injured than other Australians.
