The remote community of Binjari, 15km from Katherine and with only 150 residents, has experienced 10 deaths due to alcohol related causes in the past eight years. Elders in the community have taken action with health workers in order to put confronting imagery on display in the town. Symbolic gravesites have been put on display to represent those whose deaths were a result of alcohol use, and community members are also looking at establishing a night patrol to liaise with police in order to deter late-night drinking.
