Nominations open for Health Consumers' Council of WA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health award

Date posted: 17 February 2016

The Health Consumers' Council (HCC) Consumer excellence awards were created to celebrate the achievements of the unsung heroes in Western Australia (WA) health, from the administrator to the clinician and to recognise the health consumers that go out of their way to make a difference. There are five award categories:

  1. Health organisation award
  2. Health professional award
  3. Health consumer award
  4. Rosemary Caithness award
  5. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health award

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health award acknowledges outstanding service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health consumers. The award is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people/organisations. Evidence of outstanding service in the form of feedback letters from consumers/patients/health professionals will help support the nomination.

Nominations close 15 April 2016 and the awards will be presented at a ceremony as part of the HCC Patient experience week series from 28-29 April 2016.
