2009 Native Title and Social Justice Reports released

The annual Native Title and Social Justice Reports were released in Sydney on 4 May 2009. The reports are released annually by the Australian Human Rights Commission (previously the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, HREOC) through the Office of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner.

The launch of the reports included:

• Introduction by The Hon Catherine Branson QC, President, Australian Human Rights Commission
• Opening Address by The Hon Robert McClelland MP, Attorney-General
• Keynote Address by Mr Tom Calma, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner and Race Discrimination Commissioner
• Panel speaking on ‘A new agenda for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples?'
