The Indigenous Land Corporation will purchase the Ayers Rock resort at Yulara. As well as acquiring the resort's hotels and accommodation, the contract will also include associated infrastructure, the airport and worker's village. The acquisition is intended to increase training and employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians in tourism and hospitality industries. This acquisition returns 104,000ha of culturally significant freehold land to Traditional Owners and they will play a key role in the operation and management of the resort.
