Luke Carroll inspires youth to reduce suicide numbers

Date posted: 27 June 2014

Play School presenter and Actor Luke Carroll spends his spare time promoting healthy living in remote Indigenous Australian communities that experience high rates of youth suicide.

As a father himself, he is passionate about instilling a sense of cultural identity in youth and believes that a major contributor to the increased rates of suicide is that young Indigenous people are losing touch with their culture.

Carroll visits schools in affected communities as a part of the National Indigenous 3on3 basketball and hip hop challenge, which aims to strengthen communities and boost self-esteem through sport, dancing and music.
