A history of Aboriginal Health Workers & Aboriginal Community Workers in the Northern Territory 1870-2013

Date posted: 16 May 2014

This timeline poster was launched in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory (NT) on Tuesday 29 April 2014 and is a unique story telling and history machine, recording and celebrating the achievements of NT Aboriginal Health Workers, Child and Family Community Workers and educators.

Over 80 people attended the emotional and moving event, with participants celebrating the lifetime of work and commitment to Aboriginal Health Workers by Kathy Abbott.

The poster was also launched in Darwin on Wednesday 14 May by John Paterson, Executive Officer, from the Aboriginal Medical Services Association Northern Territory (AMSANT) and Maurie Ryan, Chair of the Central Land Council.

Around 200 copies were given free of charge to NT Health Child and Family Services following the launch. Copies will then be available to order online.
