Heart Week 2014

Date posted: 8 April 2014

Heart Week 2014 runs from 4 May to 10 May and provides an opportunity to highlight the problems associated with heart disease. The Heart Foundation uses the week to focus on building awareness to improve the heart health of all Australians.

Each year, almost 10,000 Australians die of a heart attack and more than one million Australians aged between 30-65 years are at high risk of having a heart attack or stroke, although they may not even know they are at risk.

During Heart Week 2014, the Heart Foundation will be urging all Australians to learn the warning signs of a heart attack and reduce their risk of having one.

The Heart Foundation 2014 Heart Week kits, are no longer available, however people can still spread the word and help save lives by downloading free resources from their website.

The Heart Foundation is a charity and relies on donations to continue their lifesaving work and will be requiring volunteers to raise funds for them during Heart Week throughout Australia.
