Mayor wants end to grog-running in Aurukun

Date posted: 2 April 2014

The Mayor of Aurukun on Cape York, Queensland, Derek Walpo, says he is fed up with grog runners targeting his community.

The community has a complete alcohol ban and Councillor Walpo says sly grogging is having a devastating effect on his community, such as absenteeism from work and school.

He says he'd like to see more sly groggers arrested.
