Aboriginal people to be recognised in the NSW constitution

Date posted: 16 June 2010

NSW Government seeks to amend the Constitution's preamble to acknowledge the Aboriginal people of New South Wales and their lasting contribution to the State. Constitutional recognition reminds us that the determination to close the gap in a range of indicators continues. Aboriginal people are entitled to the same opportunities and to reach for the same goals and aspirations as every citizen in NSW.
