The 7 deadly things: a Gillard guide to black pitfalls

Closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians is one of the urgent Indigenous matters former Aboriginal affairs spokeswoman and current Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, seeks to address. Her party has committed to close the life expectancy gap in 25 years, halve child mortality and the employment gap by 2018, and significantly improve educational outcomes for Indigenous Australians. This is just one component of the larger Indigenous policy agenda for this government.
