Rural Health West, a not-for-profit agency which aims to improve the health of rural, remote and Indigenous Western Australian communities through the recruiting and retaining of a sustainable health workforce, is celebrating 25 years of service this Saturday 15 March.
Originally established in 1989 as The Western Australian Centre for Rural and Remote Medicine (WACRRM), Rural Health West was the first established rural health workforce agency in Australia.
To celebrate the event, Rural Health West is hosting a gala dinner to be held in Perth, inviting past and present rural doctors, friends, associates and colleagues to join the festivities. The event will acknowledge and celebrate the organisations rich history, specifically focusing upon the hard work and commitment shown by those practicing medicine in remote areas.
'The rural medical workforce are such an integral part of the communities in which they live and work, generously helping and treating those in need,' stated Ms Belinda Bailey, CEO of Rural Health West. 'Rural Health West recognises these unsung everyday heroes and reflects upon our own dynamic evolution over the past twenty-five years.'
The HealthInfoNet is a proud partner of Rural Health West and we would like to extend our warmest congratulations and kind regards to all of the Rural Health West team.
