Casino teens picked for national netball squad

Date posted: 21 February 2014

Emma Gordon and Zoe Williams have gained selection to be in the Australian Indigenous girls netball squad to play in the International Schoolgirls' Challenge in July. The girls will be joined by Bianca Anderson from Ballina who also gained selection.

The trio earned selection after impressing for their New South Wales teams at the recent Australian Indigenous Schoolgirls Netball Carnival.

Gordon was among the last players to be named by selectors reading out the chosen squad. 'I thought I hadn't got in,' she said. 'I was waiting and waiting. They called my name and I was just so excited. I didn't know what to do or what to say, it was pretty overwhelming,' she said.
