New chronic disease program for the Indigenous residents of Warwick

Date posted: 6 January 2014

A group of Elders from the town of Warwick in Queensland have travelled to the Carbal Medical Centre in Toowoomba, to learn about new health options available to Indigenous people in the Warwick area suffering from chronic disease.

The new initiative means that Indigenous patients who are referred to a Chronic Disease Coordinator by their General Practitioner for a care plan, can receive five free allied health appointments including physiotherapy and podiatry.
