WA Health award winners for 2013
The winners of the WA Health Awards for 2013 were announced last week, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the WA health services.
There were 80 nominations for the WA Health Awards, with ten winners selected, who represented key priorities for WA Health including hospitals, primary health care, Aboriginal health and public health.
Some of the award winners include:
- the Aboriginal child health project; which aims to increase the capacity of the health care workforce to provide skilled care to Aboriginal children and their parents, no matter the setting
- Aboriginal ambulatory care; a project aiming to improve ambulatory paediatric services for WA Aboriginal children, especially the most disadvantaged, hard-to-reach children
- Self management & review type 1 education (SMaRT1E); a project that actively engages people with type 1 diabetes to develop and apply knowledge, practical problem-solving and coping skills to achieve optimal self-management of their condition.
