Young Indigenous Chronic Disease Liaison Officer - a leader in her community

Date posted: 25 November 2013

Jacqueline Gibbs, a 22 year old Indigenous Chronic Disease Liaison Officer and Case Manager in New South Wales, is participating in a youth leadership program, which aims to extend the leadership capabilities of young Indigenous Australians.

Three young leaders and a mentor were selected from each state to participate in the two year program, which so far has included completing a 70km cultural walk in Central Australia to learn about different cultural practices. Currently participants are raising money to walk the Kokoda trail in Papua New Guinea next year.
