New tool to assess the risk of type 2 diabetes

Date posted: 8 November 2013

A new online tool has been released to assess the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The Australian type 2 diabetes risk assessment tool (AUSDRISK) was developed by Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute.

The tool involves answering a series of questions and upon completion a score for the risk of developing type 2 diabetes within five years is generated. The results can then be printed and taken to a doctor for further discussion.
