Registrations open for National Close the Gap Day 2014

Date posted: 28 October 2013

Registrations are now open for National Close the Gap Day (NCTGD) 2014, one of Australia's largest Indigenous health events.

NCTGD is a way for all Australians to join together and remind our political leaders of their commitments to close the life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians within a generation.

NCTGD is on Thursday 20 March, 2014. Earlier this year, over 970 events were hosted around Australia on National Close the Gap Day, with a very significant number hosted by hospitals, public and private health centres, Medicare locals and health workers.

Individuals, work places, local governments, schools, hospitals and Indigenous organisations are encouraged to take part in 2014, giving organisations and employees the opportunity to show their support for closing the 10-17 year life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and other Australians. All registrants receive a pack of Close the gap materials outlining how together we can achieve Indigenous health equality by 2030.
