The first National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's health strategy was launched on 19 May 2010 at the 6th Australian Women's Health Conference in Hobart. The strategy was developed by the Australian Women's Health Network Aboriginal Women's Talking Circle, and involved consultations with over 400 women working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's health. The aim of the strategy is to address the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous women's health.
