Whey protein could help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes: study

Date posted: 25 September 2013

Australian researchers, headed by Professor Phillip Newsholme of Curtin University, have discovered that whey protein could help reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

People with type 2 diabetes usually have an inhibited release of insulin from the pancreas, but this research has discovered that whey protein, which is found in milk, has a positive impact on pancreatic cells, helping them to release more insulin.
