Hearing awareness week from 25 August 2013

Hearing Awareness Week runs from 25 August 2013 and brings into focus important issues for Australians who are hearing impaired, deaf or have a chronic ear disorder.

One in six Australians is deaf, deafblind, hearing impaired or has a chronic ear disorder. Hearing awareness week provides an opportunity to explain that hearing health is an important issue for every Australian.

There are a number of activities running throughout Australia, whether it's a sports event, a public exhibition on hearing technologies, an address to a conference or hearing safety training for staff, all activities that promote awareness of hearing health (but, not for profit) are a welcome part of Hearing Awareness Week.
