Nominations for the Australian Medical Association of Western Australia (AMA WA) and Healthway Healthier WA award are now open to WA based organisations. The award recognises outstanding commitment and innovation from organisations that develop successful ventures, projects, and programs which demonstrate a tangible positive impact on health and wellbeing for Western Australians.
Winners of the award in previous years have included the Ear Science Institute of Australia, an independent, not for profit organisation dedicated to the research and treatment of ear and hearing disorders, for their Cheers for ears program. Cheers for ears is a noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) prevention and education program targeted at school aged children which is delivered to 8,000 students across WA annually.
The award is open to WA based organisations from the business, not for profit, local government and community service sectors which can demonstrate, through a specific intiative (campaign, project, program, strategy or venture), achievement of a significant reduction in the incidence of disease or injury within the WA community.
Nominations close Friday 14 June 2013 at 5.00pm.
