Closing the Gap: new section on the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet

Date posted: 19 April 2010

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet has developed a new section on the website, dedicated to key information, current news items, reports, policy information and resources relating to Closing the Gap.

Closing the Gap is a strategy that aims to achieve Australian Indigenous health equality within 25 years. The strategy, based on a formal commitment from the Australian Government, includes initiatives relating to life expectancy, child mortality, access to early childhood education, educational achievement and employment outcomes.

The new Closing the Gap section is designed for people working, studying, or interested in closing the gap between Indigenous and other Australians. It includes detailed information on the history, goals, current initiatives and progress on Closing the Gap, and is a portal for accessing reports, COAG Communiqués, policy documents, conference presentations, journal articles, opinion pieces and speeches relating to Closing the Gap.

We welcome your feedback so please take a look at the new Closing the Gap section and let us know what you think!
