New HealthInfoNet partnership with Indigenous Allied Health Australia

Date posted: 31 October 2012

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet is pleased to announce a new partnership with Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) Inc.

IAHA is the peak body in Australia representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health professionals and students.

It provides support and advocacy on behalf of Indigenous allied health professionals and students and builds strong leadership capacity across the allied and Indigenous health sectors.

IAHA works closely with organisations, universities and other related sectors to improve health curricula, address allied health workforce issues, and promote allied health careers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It provides expert advice to governments, allied health professional bodies, educational institutions and the health sector in relation to health policy and issues.

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet will be hosting a cafe at the IAHA's inaugural conference in Brisbane this November. Entitled Joining the dots, the two-day conference will focus on interprofessional working relationships in the Indigenous health sector.

The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet looks forward to working with IAHA to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.
