Opportunity to develop skills recognition and training program for Indigenous Health Workers

Health Workforce Australia (HWA) is seeking expressions of interest to deliver skills assessment, recognition and/or upskilling training services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers who wish to meet the qualification requirements for registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.

The key deliverables for this project are:

• a skills assessment, recognition and upskilling program that leads to obtaining the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care certificate IV (practice)
• training services that allow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers to qualify for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care certificate IV (practice).

Key activities will include:

• monthly data reports and quarterly progress reports
• report on completion of 12 month skills assessment process
• report on completion of upskilling training.

The opportunity to submit an expression of interest for this project closes at 2pm, Australian Central Daylight Time, on Thursday 14 November 2012.
