Biography

Dallas McKeown-Young has worked on developing and implementing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander tobacco control projects, forming policy and evaluating interventions.

Dallas has worked nationally delivering training based on the project Talkin’ Up Good Air, which was developed at the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Tobacco Control (CEITC) where she was Project Officer. Prior to her work at CEITC, Dallas worked with the Wuchopperen Health Service in Cairns as a Researcher and Project Officer and also managed a public health research project at James Cook University in Northern Queensland which focussed on tobacco control and chronic diseases.

Dallas has lived and worked predominantly in far north Queensland and has many connections throughout Cape York, the Torres Strait and the far west.
