Biography

Telphia Joseph is a Yamatji woman from Western Australia. She is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales.

Telphia was previously the National Indigenous Immunisation Coordinator based with the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (NCIRS). She acted in a liaison position between the National Immunisation Committee and service providers offering immunisation programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

In 2015, Telphia completed her Masters of Philosophy at the University of Sydney which involved an evaluation of immunisation activities in Aboriginal Medical Services and the reporting structures to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register. She is a member of the National Immunisation Committee and is also a moderator of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Immunisation Network.
